Sebatiaan Souer, Advisor

Dr. Sebastiaan Souer (1977) studied medicine at the University of Amsterdam and specialized in orthopaedic surgery in Nijmegen and Arnhem. After doing research at Harvard Medical School in Boston for three years, he obtained his doctorate in 2011 on the surgical treatment of wrist fractures. He then specialized further as a hand surgeon through the national hand and wrist surgery fellowship. Since 2014, Dr. Souer has been working as a hand surgeon at Xpert Clinic. In 2015 he passed the FESSH exam (Federation of European Societies or Surgery of the Hand). The FESSH exam is the highest attainable in the field of hand and wrist surgery.

"For my PhD, I did research at Harvard Medical School in Boston for a few years. From this research my special interest in the "post-traumatic" abnormalities of the hand and wrist arose; disorders due to a fracture of the hand or wrist. I specialize in nerve, tendon and ligament injuries of the hand and wrist as well as in arthroscopic treatment techniques.
