Robbert Wouters, post-doc
Robbert Wouters is a Hand Therapist (CHT-NL) at Handtherapie NL / Xpert Clinic and a postdoctoral researcher at the Department of Rehabilitation Medicine and Plastic, Reconstructive and Hand Surgery of the Erasmus MC Rotterdam. He obtained his MSc in Clinical Health Sciences at Utrecht University.
In his PhD period at Erasmus MC, his research focused on outcome measurement and treatment for thumb base osteoarthritis. In his postdoctoral function, he is the main researcher on the "THumb osteoarthritis Exercise TriAl (THETA); a multicenter, randomized controlled trial on exercise therapy with an orthosis compared to an orthosis alone in patients with thumb base osteoarthritis”, funded by ZonMW. He was appointed as a Research Fellow at the International Consortium for Health Outcome Measurement (IHCOM) in 2018, aiming to develop the ICHOM Standard Set for Hand and Wrist conditions together with project chair Steven Hovius.
