Ernst Smits, Hand Surgeon

Dr. Ernst Smits studied medicine at the Erasmus MC in Rotterdam and specialized in Plastic Reconstructive and Hand surgery also in Rotterdam Erasmus MC after 2 years of general surgery at the OLVG Amsterdam. The specialization was partially combined performing research at Erasmus MC, he obtained his PhD. in 2014 on post-traumatic cold intolerance of the hands.

 

After his specialization as a plastic surgeon, he specialized further as a hand surgeon through the national hand and wrist surgery fellowship. Since 2019, Dr. Smits has been working as a hand surgeon at Erasmus MC.
